Owner’s Directives

Borås Kommun’s Parking AB is an organizational unit within the municipality's operations and is subordinate to the City Council of Borås. The company operates under the supervision of the Municipal Executive Board and is required to follow directives issued by the City Council and the Municipal Executive Board, with the support of delegated authority.

Goals and assignments

The municipality shall own the company in order to ensure good parking solutions in the municipality and to coordinate parking issues with the wider municipal planning. The company shall also act as a communal resource of expertise in both operational and planning issues related to parking. Additionally, the company should be able to enter into new agreements and fulfill the municipality's existing commitments to property owners regarding parking purchases. Finally, the company shall be a tool for the municipality in the implementation of municipal parking projects by constructing and operating parking facilities both under its own management and in collaboration with other actors.

The company shall consolidate and coordinate operational activities within the parking sector and provide attractive and easily accessible parking facilities on either owned or leased land. It shall also participate in the municipal planning process in matters concerning parking and ensure that the operations align with the goals set by the municipality for traffic and parking. Furthermore, the company shall work to ensure environmental considerations are taken into account when constructing and managing parking facilities.
